Apostle Willie R. Mincey, Jr.’s ministry began with a call to preach at just nine years old. Known in the Winter Haven community as the “Community Preacher,” he has devoted decades to pastoral leadership, sharing the Gospel, and serving people within and beyond the church.

Born on September 9, 1953, in Lake Hamilton, Florida, he is the son of Willie R. Mincey, Sr., and Alease J. Mincey. At seven years old, he received water baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. Two years later, he answered the call to ministry, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service.

Apostle Mincey graduated from Haines City High School in 1971. He also attended Polk Community College and studied citrus production at Travis Vocational School. His desire to deepen his biblical knowledge led him to pursue an education at an Apostolic Bible college in 1999. In June 2001, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Studies with a focus on Pastoral Ministries from W. L. Bonner College.

In 1982, Apostle Mincey was installed as pastor of the Church of God and True Holiness in Winter Haven, Florida. In 1991, he led the congregation in a building project for a new sanctuary. True Holiness Tabernacle includes seating for 350 people and a fellowship hall on 5.7 acres of land purchased for $190,000.

His commitment to service extends into the community through involvement in ministerial associations, the PEACE organization, and the Winter Haven branch of the NAACP. His ministry travels have taken him throughout the United States and abroad, including Canada, Italy, Jerusalem, the Philippines, and several Caribbean islands.

During visits to North Carolina, Apostle Mincey met Romell Williams in the town of Beulaville. They married on August 1, 1981, and are the parents of three daughters: Roshondra, Ronika, and Rodedreia.

Through his preaching, pastoral leadership, and community involvement, Apostle Mincey continues to encourage others in faith and remains an inspiration to those who know him.
